Johan Inger will present his first piece for Kamea in March 22!

We are proud to announce the beginning of our venture with mega star choreographer JOHAN INGER. For the last few weeks rehearsals are in high gear for Johan’s first work to be mounted by Kamea Dance Company: RAIN DOGS.

The Swede Johan Inger was a dancer from 1985 to 1990 with the Swedish Royal Ballet in Stockholm. Fascinated by the works of Kylián, Inger was convinced that a next step in his dance career should take him to Nederlands Dans Theater. In 1990 he joined NDT 1 and was a high-profile dancer in this company until 2002. Soon his talent for choreography was noticed.

Inger was asked in 1995 to make his first choreography for NDT 2. From 2003 to 2008 Inger was artistic leader of the Cullberg Ballet for which he made various choreographies. In 2008 Inger stopped as artistic leader for Cullberg Ballet so as to devote himself entirely to choreography.

Between 2009 and 2016, Johan Inger held the position as Associate Choreographer with Nederlands Dans Theater, creating for both companies (NDT 1 + NDT 2) regularly.

Inger won numerous prizes for his creations and his choreographic work is presented by the most valued dance companies worldwide.

Johan’s piece is staged by Carl Inger.
