Mnemosyne
By Tamir Ginz
The work "Mnemosyne" by Tamir Ginz was created in 2018 to celebrate Kamea’s 15 anniversary. It enjoyed great success in Israel and in international tours and now it returns to the stage.
Memories build and memories destroy, memories chase and memories fade… Where did I come from and where do I end, how can I belong?
Named after the Greek goddess of memory, Mnemosyne explores the relationship between collective and personal identity. Drawing inspiration from community traditions, rituals, and celebrations, Ginz examines the shared memory carried within the body. These collective memories exist in an eternal tension with the individual self, shaped by fragments of personal memories and experiences.
