Bamidbar Devarim

By Tamir Ginz
(Desert of Things)
"Bamidbar Devarim" means both "Desert of Things" and "Numbers Deuteronomy" in Hebrew. The work was inspired by the unique and infinitely varied natural and human landscape of the desert. Watching the piece unfold on stage, one can feel the pulse of wilderness which dominates everything alive, the power inherent in bursting physicality. It is a meeting between the west and east, the individual and the "tribe". The work is iconic to Ginz's movement language in KAMEA and has received very best reviews and considered to be one of his most appreciated creations.

“With intriguing body movements, stunning lighting and a superb soundtrack, the Kamea Dance Company performs a work that never ceases to amaze.
This is clearly an auspicious period for Ginz, who has surrendered himself to the vast pleasure involved in dancing. The body of dancers ebb and flow ceaselessly, exploring the encounter with the space around them and other bodies, without fear of suppressed violence that might be latent within them, and without trying to hide the gentleness enshrined in their movements.”
