It is a time of a difficult crisis in the State of Israel, the worst this country has known in its 75 years. Following the atrocities of the Hamas attack on Israel on the Black Saturday, October 7, 2023, we were forced to a war which we did not choose, a war to defend and protect the citizens of Israel, to beat the evil terrorist organization, a fight for the free world: for democracy, humanity, for peace.
KAMEA Dance Company is the only professional dance company in the south of Israel, whose employees are all residents of the south of Israel: from the Negev metropolis, Be’er Sheva, and the communities closer to the Gaza border, those who got attacked and suffered horror.
Many of us have family members and friends who were involved in the horrible attack, and some of them are no longer among the living. A few of our employees lost their “everything”!
Our dancers and staff in Beer sheva suffer from non stop rocket attacks from Gaza on our homes which terrorize our lives for a very long time.
Now it has to stop!!!
This is what Israel is fighting for and we all stand together strong with our nation.
As residents of the south of Israel, it is important for us to join the national effort to maintain community and mental resilience. We contribute our part in voluntarily performing for those who suffered most, evacuated communities, children who are forced to stay at shelters for days on end. We act in an attempt to bring a momentary relief and joy to broken families and give them strength, utilizing our talents.
We are all in a state of unawareness about the future. We wish for the physical and mental health of the residents of Israel and the security forces, and for the return of the hostages.
